Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are a time-tested method of holding back earth to create leveled areas on otherwise steep slopes. The ancients used retaining walls to terrace unforgiving slopes, creating more usable farmland. Today, they serve the same purpose but with a far greater variety of wall blocks to choose from. Natural boulders, flat stone and engineered blocks are common to most of our projects with great results. Often, things like stairs, patios and water features can be integrated with your retaining wall. With much of our local area transitioning from either a slope towards the lake or the foothills of the Appalachians, we've helped many clients create enjoyable space from what was previously too steep to even mow safely. In addition to their utilitarian purposes, retaining walls create gorgeous accents around homes for plant beds.
